Employee of the Month

Chrissy fills a position that requires a range of very different skills and aptitudes, and fulfills all the varied requirements to a high level while making it look easy.  Her core skills are in the technical arena, where she is our lead DBA and takes a hands-on role as the primary DBA for our on-premises Oracle databases, ensuring that they remain accessible, perform to expectations, and meet all security standards.  She also provides support for the CBORD application, where she takes the lead role on all database-related tasks including ensuring patching is performed regularly.

On top of that she provides management oversight for a small but extremely busy team, assigning work and tracking status; she is a very conscientious and thorough supervisor dedicated to ensuring both the University’s and her staff's needs are met.  And a further very large part of her job consists of managing the maintenance schedule for all our Ellucian cloud products, which she takes a cery active approach to.  This involves keeping track of all the needed tasks, coordinating the schedule with the vendor and with multiple stakeholders across campus, monitoring progress and raising any issues as soon as they appear.
